The countdown to Christmas is on so the Hayling Island Amateur Dramatic Society is busy rehearsing, set-building, costume-making and puppet-constructing.

But this year it’s a western: Panto At The OK Corral by Jim Sperink, traditional in form but with songs from popular cowboy films and Wild West-inspired characters. The show runs from December 12-19.

Clint Westwood rides into town seeking revenge on the wicked Sheriff Small Holding and his deputies Butch Casserole and the Sun-tanned Kid.

He encounters a ‘lady’ in need of help, Dame Winnie Pegg, her children James, Jesse and Calamity Jane and their horse Lightning.

He meets saloon bar owner Diamond Lil and her girls Buttons and Bows and locals Running Bear, Goldie Nuggets and Buffalo Bill.

The show is suitable for families, and is on from December 12-19 and runs with Saturday matinees.

Tickets are £6-£8, call (023) 9246 6363 or visit stationtheatre.co.uk to book.
