If you have a love of the theatre and have found the love of your life, then Groundlings Theatre in Portsea could be a match made in heaven for your big day.
On February 11 the theatre became licenced to hold wedding ceremonies, letting people celebrate their marriage in truly unique style.
The stunning Georgian building is one of the UK’s oldest theatres and is known for its quirky Dickensian café, unique sky ceilings and grand, theatrical costumes.
Groundlings artistic director Richard Stride says: ‘Working in a very creative environment gives us a fantastic opportunity to make someone’s day very special.’
The venue has been extremely popular for wedding receptions for the past two years, and now it is possible to have both the ceremony and reception in the same location.
Different themes can also be accommodated, from Medieval banquets complete with traditional dancers to an Alice in Wonderland celebration dining with the Mad Hatter.
