BANTER Comedy Club returned to a sold-out crowd at the Spinnaker Tower showcasing three rising talents on the comedy circuit.

The evening was hosted by the hilarious James Alderson who was a clear crowd favourite from the moment he stepped up to the microphone.

Headliner Patrick Monaghan burst on stage with boundless enthusiasm, hugging several members of the audience en route.

The majority of his set centred around the misdemeanours of women on a drunken night out and the impracticalities of the ‘onesie’.

Highly animated at all times, the Irish-Iranian comic commanded the stage with his cheeky, charming wit and vivacious personality.

Despite Monahan’s great reception from the crowd, the biggest applause of the night was for support act Craig Murray.

The Yorkshire comedian, who featured on the Plusnet Broadband TV adverts, shared hilarious audience interaction and witty anecdotes on topics such as the stress of planning a wedding and being overweight.
