As an avid fan of Strictly Come Dancing there was no way I was going to miss an opportunity to hot foot it down to the guildhall to get some live action and see Brendan Cole and partner Aliona Vilani on the Licence to Thrill tour.

With that title you would expect it to be somewhat heavy on the James Bond theme, but not so. We were treated to a myriad of dance styles and musical numbers – he oozes charisma and is high on the energy factor, dazzling the audience not just with his dancing but also with humorous banter.

The supporting cast were just as talented as Brendan, and I must also mention the exceptional live band. The evening flew by and we were treated to a question and answer session where he not only gave us an insight to his career and personal life, some lucky female fans even got a dance.

The climax to the night was a recreation of the mambo scene at the end of Dirty Dancing-complete with the lift followed by my favourite an energetic Footloose jive. It was a thrill a minute and had me salivating for next time.
