STP Musicals pounced on to the stage for its first performance of feline favourite Cats at Ferneham Hall.

It was the perfect-sized venue for this production, with the large cast making excellent use of both the height and width of the small stage.

The set itself was static with no changes between scenes, but cleverly designed to allow the cats to appear from hidden tunnels all over the stage.

At times, the actors spilled over into the audience, giving a real up close and intimate performance that was very engaging.

The close proximity allowed the viewer a good look at the costumes, with their intricate detailing.

Stand-out performances came from South Downs College students Abigail Earnshaw for her singing and George Grayson for his dancing. Until Saturday.
