Have your say

On a wet and windy night in Southsea we were transported into the fairytale world of The Nutcracker by the Moscow City Ballet

With clever set design, the Hoffmann story of the three puppets — the Nutcracker, the doll and the mouse king — came to life before our eyes.

The dancers were elegant, superbly rehearsed and performed with amazing grace and lightness.

Yuliya Zhuravleva was flawless as the young Clara, performing with both vulnerability and joie de vivre, and Talgat Kozhabaev commanded the stage as Drosselmeier with a powerful and mesmerising performance.

The Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy would have had every young girl (and several older ones) dreaming of being the principal dancer.

It was a magical performance in a weather-battered city.
