Groundlings Theatre will aim for more than the bare necessities when they transform the theatre into a jungle for The Jungle Book.
The show, which takes place from April 22 to May 3, is based on the original collection of stories written by Rudyard Kipling, who lived in Portsmouth as a child after moving from India.
Steve Arnold, who is best known for playing Ashley Peacock in Coronation Street, will be joining the cast, playing the part of Shere Khan.
Archie Porter, 14, has attended Groundlings Theatre School for five years and will be taking the lead role as Mowgli.
Leah Lloyd, who starred as Cinderella in the Groundlings pantomime, will be tackling a more sinister role as Kaa the python. Chevin Dash will play Balloo alongside Jack Tutt as Bagheera.
Tickets: £14 for adults, £10 for children.
