Bench Theatre brings seven brand new shows to the Spring with its Supernova competition from February 10-13.
More than 14 years ago, Bench Theatre launched an ambitious one-act play competition aimed at promoting local and national playwrights and displaying the fruits of their labours on the stage.
The winning plays this year were chosen by the reading panel from over 100 entries.
The plays that will be performed include Pricking the Sides, a murder mystery written by Julia Warren and What You Are, a biographical play about the writer of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star by Samantha Lierens.
Headless Chickens, based on an Ofsted inspection and written by Colin Dowland, Healing With Words, a play about marriage counselling by John Hill and Your Lucky Day by David Weir also feature, alongside Login Error, a chatroom drama by Adam Hughes and Scoundrels!, a Victorian-era comedy of manners by Mark Wakeman.
Each play will be performed twice during the four days of the festival.
