It takes two to tango – and this couldn’t be more true in the working partnership between Russell Grant and Arlene Philips.

The Strictly Come Dancing Star, Russell, is arriving at the Kings Theatre, Southsea from October 1-6 to star as Teen Angel in Grease.

And to help him in learning the moves is former Strictly Come Dancing judge and choreographer, Arlene Philips.

Arlene says: ‘It’s wonderful to go to work with a smile on your face and nobody makes me smile more than Russell.

For Teen Angel, I’ve created a typical over the top Russell style dance routine, mixing samba and tango with Hollywood glamour; nothing will stop Russell reaching for the stars.’

Russell believes Arlene is his dance sister.

He says: ‘She brought out the very best in me working on The Wizard Oz and even had me dancing my first Charleston.

‘So when she said I was right for Teen Angel and, if I took the part, she’d create the choreography – how could I resist!’

Russell adds: ‘Now Teen Angel has a Strictly twist and skimmy – which captures the joy of dance I’ve been lucky enough to have discovered.’

Tickets cost £20 to £35 from the Kings Theatre, Southsea on (023) 9282 8282 or go to kings-southsea.com.
