The Groundlings Theatre, Portsea is set to present its unique costumes for the Making Waves Film Festival on September 27.
The theatre’s wardrobe features more than 11,000 items of period and contemporary costume and accessories for hire to the theatre, film and television industry.
The collection has been built up with costumes either made for or bought from the BBC, Royal Opera house, National Theatre, West End shows and other sources and includes costumes that have appeared in The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, Gladiator and Shakespeare In Love.
Groundlings’ wardrobe mistress Sarah Laker says:‘We have anything from panto to Shakespeare and Ancient Greeks to aliens; there is something for everyone in our impressive Aladdin’s cave of costumes.’
