ONE of the original stars of the TV phenomenon The Only Way is Essex has signed up to join the cast of this year’s pantomime at the Kings Theatre in Southsea.

James ‘Arg’ Argent will be playing Dandini in Cinderella, which will run from December 8 until January 3.

He has been a regular on the ITV2 show from its start in 2010.

The 27-year-old began acting and singing in 2002 after winning The Kenny Award at the Kenneth More Theatre in Ilford, East London.

But this will be his first ever pantomime. Arg said: ‘I’m absolutely delighted to perform in my first pantomime in the role of Dandini.

‘I had a look at the theatre online so I’ve seen pictures of the theatre and it looks absolutely beautiful.

‘I can’t wait to see it for real and get started on the rehearsals.‘

Sandra Smith, corporate manager at the Kings added: ‘I know that Arg is an accomplished singer having performed at major venues such as The Royal Albert Hall and has a real passion for music and theatre.

‘We’re really excited to welcome him to the Kings.’

He joins the previously-announced cast members, the multimillion-selling singer and actress Anita Harris and Matt Dallen who returns to the Kings after his 2013 as star turn as Chester the Jester in Sleeping Beauty.
