A PORTSMOUTH TV fan was one of the lucky ones to get into a taping of hit dating show Take Me Out last night.
Stephen Matthews was one of the hundreds of visitors who travelled 100 miles to Maidstone, Kent, in the hope they could be in the audience.
But many were turned away from Maidstone Studios due to the venue being full before the show was about to start.
Mr Matthews said he arrived at 4.30pm for the show, which was due to start at 6.30pm, and was one of the last ones to get in.
A large number made the trip given a large number of free tickets had been distributed by Applause Store, a website which provides free tickets to the filming of a long list of shows across the world including The X Factor, Catchphrase and Never Mind the Buzzcocks.
But what many visitors for the Take Me Out show didn’t see in the terms and conditions was the line that said more tickets were distributed than the total capacity of the venue to ensure there was a full audience.
It has been reported that guests were left waiting in the cold for nearly 45 minutes, only to be greeted by a member of staff who announced: ‘Sorry to be the bearer of bad news guys, but all the seats are full for tonight’s show.’
