Supermarket sweeps more than £11,500 for charity
The Broadcut store presented a cheque for £11,777.76 to The Stroke Association, which was its local charity of the year.
As part of the fundraising, colleague Warren Holmar cycled more than 1,600 miles from Broadcut to Land’s End, Cornwall, and then to John O’Groats, Scotland.

Hide AdMichelle Bowdidge, from The Stroke Association, said: ‘We have been overwhelmed, not only by the fundraising events throughout the year but also for the opportunity of the partnership and for benefitting from awareness and blood pressure days in store.’
Store manager Phil Bridgwater said: ‘This is testament to the fantastic generosity of our customers and colleagues alike, without whom the support would be very difficult.
