‘The lunch has been a real community effort.
‘Not every mum has been able to make it because of work, so it’s nice to see grandmas here or some mums looking after their children’s friends – no-one was left out.’

Hide AdHeadteacher Georgina Mulhall said she was happy with the effort made by families.
‘Out of 240 children in the junior school, we had around 180 mums and grandmas which was great,’ she said.
‘We decided to make the event about the pupils inviting the special lady in their life, so it didn’t have to necessarily be their mums.
‘It seemed a lovely opportunity following on from Mother’s Day to invite the community into the school.
‘They were able to relax in the hall and enjoy a nice lunch in an informal atmosphere.’
