Waterlooville secondary school unveils new building and field
The new wing at Purbrook Park School features six new classrooms and a discovery centre.
The Mayor of Havant, Faith Ponsonby, attended the unveiling of the building, which also includes a restaurant and cafe.

Hide AdHeadteacher Paul Foxley said: ‘I am absolutely thrilled with our fantastic new facilities. I believe that every child whatever their background and abilities deserves a high quality education, and my team of outstanding teachers provides this.’
Cllr Ponsonby said: ‘It’s really exciting to see Purbrook Park School developing so well with excellent up-to-date facilities which will give pupils every opportunity to grow and find their talents.’
Chairman of governors Paul Evelyn said: ‘The governors are extremely proud to have delivered such a brilliant new resource for the children of Purbrook and the surrounding area.’
Purbrook Park pupils were delighted by the new facilities, which will allow them to embrace subjects such as food technology.

Hide AdSpencer Luff, a Year 8 pupil at the school, said: ‘I love the new building. The new classes are amazing and the new possibilities are endless.
‘Food technology is teaching young pupils key life skills for the future.
‘This is why I love the new building.’
Later in the afternoon, the school opened their new sports field with the help of Portsmouth FC midfielder Ben Close.
The Pompey newcomer cut the ribbon before Year 8 pupils led a football session with students from Solent Juniors and Morelands Primary.
Mr Foxley continued: ‘I am delighted that we have a new sports field for our young people. Purbrook Park now has a great team of sports teachers and the facilities to match.’
