‘I can’t wait to see everyone’s ideas and creativity and to see those ideas turned into a beautiful trophy that becomes a little piece of sailing history.’
The winning design will be turned into a trophy and presented to the winning America’s Cup team at a prize-giving ceremony.
When the competition was run last year more than 2,000 youngsters entered.

A trophy based on Leo’s drawing was handed to winning skipper Sir Ben Ainslie by the Duchess of Cambridge.
The competition is run by The News and the 1851 Trust, a charity that aims to inspire young people through sailing and the marine industry.
