Hide AdYesterday Professor Chris Whitty, England’s chief medical officer, and Sir Patrick Vallance warned the country is at a ‘critical point’ in the coronavirus pandemic.
They warned that the UK could have 50,000 cases a day by mid-October if the current trajectory continues.
More than 610 people in Portsmouth have been diagnosed with Covid-19, and 231 patients have died at QA Hospital after contracting the virus.
