Family claim they must travel to Spain for scan
Three years ago Ashya’s parents Brett, 53, and Naghmeh, 47, took their then five-year-old son to Prague for proton beam therapy.
They sparked a major manhunt, with a European arrest warrant issued for the Southsea boy’s parents.

Hide AdBut after being treated with 30 sessions of the treatment and being back at school, they say Aysha is not getting the help he needs from the NHS.
Brett told the Sunday People: ‘It seems like some kind of revenge.’
‘He’s not getting any help from the NHS. No physiotherapy, speech therapy or occupational therapy.’
He claims the family have to travel 2,600 miles to Spain just to get MRI scans. He was being treated at Southampton General Hospital when his parents took him away in 2014.

Hide AdA statement from the trust that runs the hospital said: ‘We co-operated fully with his parents and were in the process of arranging a safe transfer to the Proton Therapy Center in Prague at their request when he was removed from our hospital without warning.’
His care is now handled in Portsmouth, the trust added.
