Charity CEO attends city group meeting
The Portsmouth Oxfam Group held an evening at The Discovery Centre in Portsmouth RC Cathedral, where Mark Goldring, chief executive of Oxfam GB, gave a talk about the charity’s role in ending poverty.
According to the charity, the improvements to the levels of poverty, education and health have been offset by the damage done by climate change and war.

Dr Owen Plunkett, who helped to organise the event, says that there was not only a fantastic turnout, but an interesting discussion about world issues.
He said: ‘We have been fortunate enough to have hosted all the past Oxfam CEOs, the first being Frank Judd, who had also been the MP for Portsmouth North.’
