Charity football tournament raises £1,000 for good causes
Covers Timber and Builders’ Merchant organised a charity football match with Pompey Legends including Darren Anderton, Paul Walsh and Patrick Ageyemang for Pompey in the Community and Portsmouth Youth Academy.
The match raised more than £1,000 for the organisations.
Covers put together a team of staff and customers.
They took part in four exciting matches in the tournament at Fratton Park.

Hide AdClare Martin, from Pompey in the Community, said: ‘We are currently fundraising for a new minibus so the money raised couldn’t have come at a better time for us.’
She added: ‘The minibus will be able to take three of our groups out to games.
‘We have a cerebral palsy group, an amputee group and will also use the minibus for transporting Portsmouth Ladies FC.’
Steve Weston, director of sales at Covers, commented: ‘It was a hugely exciting event with some great matches.
‘We would like to thank everyone who supported us to raise money for worthwhile causes.’
