Children in Need set to benefit from quiz at community centre
Portchester Community Centre will be raising money for the BBC’s charity on Friday, November 18.
The quiz will be split into five rounds and teams of six will battle to compete for the coveted trophy, which will be engraved with the winning team name, as well as small prizes to be presented to the winners to take home.

Hide AdAdrian Walter, a community outreach worker at the centre, said: ‘It is part of my job to run six fundraising events per year and so I started with a quiz and the November one coincided with Children in Need night.
‘I had an official little Pudsey so I suggested we donate half the raffle takings to this cause.’
Portchester Community Centre hosts quizzes throughout the year which support charities and involves more than 25 teams with the number increasing every year.
The quiz held in March supported Comic Relief, with Mr Walter even sporting a red nose.

‘He asked whether we could donate to Pension 4 Paws, a charity which looks after ex-service dogs to ensure they get a good retirement. As we had already selected our charities I said we would donate 50 per cent of the July quiz raffle proceeds, which we did.’
The Children in Need evening begins at 7.15pm and tickets are £5 per person and include dinner.
