Councillor asks people to look in on elderly relatives and neighbours
Councillor Liz Fairhurst, Hampshire County Council’s executive member for adult social care said: ‘While many of us are looking forward to spending time with family and friends this Christmas, for many elderly and vulnerable people it can be a time of loneliness.
‘With research showing that 60 per cent of people aged over 65 may be alone this Christmas, it’s important to think about how small gestures can make a big difference.
