Body found near Cosham Library in Portsmouth

Police have confirmed that they are investigating after the body of a man was found, and have cordoned off Cosham Library in Spur Road.
Five uniformed officers and a number of detectives are there, and two specialist forensic officers, wearing white overalls, gloves and masks have also been spotted at the scene.

Hide AdSpecialist investigators have been taking photos of an area to the side of the building, near the disabled access ramp, which has obscured from view by a series of blankets.
It’s understood police have been at the scene for a number of hours.
A police spokesman said: ‘We were called at 7.17am today following a report of the body of a man found at the rear of Cosham Library. Officers are in the early stages of this investigation and enquiries are ongoing at this time into the exact circumstances of his death.’

Hide AdGrace Benjamin, 29, lives in a flat opposite the library.She said: ‘I woke up at 8am and there were police everywhere. It was a real shock. It’s quite worrying to see so many police. I’ve never seen this many here before.’
