Gosport woman, 39, banned for being 2.5 times drink-drive limit in River Wallington crash in Fareham

Driver Rachel Hart’s Vauxhall Astra had to be fished out of the river in Fareham.
Roads policing officers from Hampshire attended along with a recovery truck from Boarhunt.

Hide AdNow Hart, 39, has admitted being more than double the limit.
A breath test revealed she had 87 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35.
The crash happened off the Delme Roundabout on October 8 at around 3am.
Portsmouth magistrates banned Hart, of The Mount in Gosport, from driving for 17 months with a £128 fine to pay.

Hide AdHart must also pay a £34 victim surcharge and £85 prosecution costs.
Speaking at the time of the incident, a Hampshire police spokeswoman said: ‘The vehicle was fully submerged, and was recovered this morning during low tide.’
No-one was injured in the crash. Hart admitted drink-driving at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court last month.
