Havant man sentenced for 'terrifying' robbery of a boy

Jordan McCready, 19, of Hiltingbury Road, Havant, appeared at Portsmouth Crown Court on Friday, July 9.
The court heard how on Tuesday, February 9, shortly after 5.50pm, McCready approached the victim on Mill Road, Waterlooville.

Hide AdHe then followed him a short distance before threatening him with a knife while demanding that he handed his phone over. The boy was not injured.
Officers arrested McCready the following day and recovered both the knife and the phone. He was later charged with robbery and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
He pleaded guilty to both offences and was sentenced to 31 months in prison.
Officer in charge of the case, DC Lauren Howard, said: ‘This was a terrifying incident for the young victim who was simply walking back from the shop.
