Police make a fourth arrest after critically hurt man was found in garden in Paulsgrove home

Officers were called to Tunstall Road, Paulsgrove at 8.20am on Saturday to a report of a stolen vehicle.
However, when police arrived they found a bloodied male with ‘serious injuries to his leg, head and face’.

Hide AdHe has since been taken to hospital where he remains in a ‘stable condition’.
Three people, a 38-year-old man, 43-year-old woman and 42-year-old woman, all from Portsmouth, were arrested on suspicion of section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent in connection with the attack.
Tonight police confirmed that a fourth person, a 37-year-old woman from Portsmouth, had arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit GBH yesterday.
All four of the suspects remain in custody.
As previously reported, the house where the attack took place was cordoned off, with forensic officers in white overalls sweeping the garden for clues to the assault.

Hide AdNeighbours have since described how scores of police arrived at the scene.
One 33-year-old woman, who asked not to be named, said: ‘I woke up at 9am and there were police everywhere.
‘I thought someone had been killed with the amount of police in the street.
‘There must have been 10 police cars, three meat wagons and there were paramedics too. There were loads of them.

Hide Ad‘CSI (crime scene investigators) have been in and out of the house where it happened all day.’
Bintar Jaiteh, 49, lives near to where the attack took place and said she was shocked by what had happened.
‘I heard someone screaming at about 8am,’ she said. ‘I think it was a man who was screaming. It was quite scary.’
Detectives have been carrying out door to door enquiries during the weekend and have urged residents to ‘speak to them’ if they have ‘any concerns’.

‘We’d also like to hear from anyone who may have CCTV, dash cam, or Ring Doorbell footage of the area.’
