Kenneth Parkman, 19, of High Street, Sandown, Isle of Wight, admitted stealing £626 Gucci sunglasses on August 1 at Whiteley.
He also admitted breaching a community order for theft.
Magistrates imposed a 12-month community order with 12 days' rehabilitation activities.
Parkman must pay a £90 victim surcharge.

Hide AdMark Walkley, 39, of Bramdean Drive, Havant, was jailed for 49 weeks.
Walkley admitted seven charges of theft, and breaching a suspended sentence for 11 shoplifting offences.
Ben Brown, 25, of Wynter Road, Southampton, admitted cannabis drug-driving on the A27 at Park Gate on August 15.
Magistrates fined him £280 with a 12-month driving ban.
He must pay a £32 victim surcharge and £85 prosecution costs.

Hide AdNatasha Hall, 30, of Portsmouth Road, Cosham, admitted using threatening or abusive words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.
Hall was fined £40 for the July 27 offence.
She must pay a £32 victim surcharge and £85 prosecution costs.
Takudzwa Mukono, 22, of Manor Park Avenue, Baffins, admitted drink-driving in Paulsgrove Road on October 5.
A test revealed he had 138 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. The limit is 80.
Magistrates fined him £120 with a 17-month driving ban.

Mark Skyrme, 41, of Hayling Avenue, Baffins, admitted drink-driving in Lake Road on December 6.
