Portsmouth PCSOs who cycled through no-cycle zone are reprimanded by superiors

Last month, the three were spotted cycling through Commercial Road and Arundel Street in Portsmouth city centre.
The entire shopping precinct has a ban on bicycles from 6am to 7pm each day, and those who breach these restrictions can be prosecuted and fined.

Hide AdA spokeswoman for Hampshire Constabulary confirmed that the police has followed up on this incident.
She said: ‘We have identified the PCSOs pictured, who were undertaking patrols in response to anti-social behaviour that had been reported to us in the Commercial Road area.
‘We have subsequently provided words of advice to the PCSOs regarding cycling restrictions in the city and will reiterate the locations of the no cycling areas to other relevant officers.
‘We’d like to thank members of the public who have engaged with our officers about anti-social behaviour while they have been patrolling the area.’
