Waterlooville playground damaged after teenagers 'deliberately' set fire to equipment

A crew from Waterlooville Fire Station were called to Newlands Walk play area on the Berewood Estate in Waterlooville, at 5.58pm this evening to reports of a fire being started by a group of teenagers.
Firefighters have now passed the incident to the police.
A tweet from Waterlooville Fire Station read: ‘We have just returned from a fire in the open small [sic]. On arrival we found a well developed fire in a local playground, deliberately set by youths.

A spokeswoman from Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service said: ‘The crew was called to Darnel Road at 5.58pm..
‘The stop message came at 6.16pm.
‘It has now been passed to the police.’
