Woman praises Hampshire police after she is left injured in assault by men trying to break into her Leigh Park home

She said that men tried to get into her family’s home on two occasions on Sunday (April 25).
The woman lives on Stockheath Road with her partner and daughter, who were both home at the time the men tried to force entry.

Hide AdThree people attempted to enter the house on the first occasion, and one man tried to force entry the second time.
The woman said: ‘There were people who were trying to get into the house, trying to get through the door.
‘This was yesterday, it started at about 2pm.’
Police confirm they were called at 2.33pm to reports of a disturbance at the home in Stockheath Road after three men tried to force entry to the address. They confirmed that a woman was assaulted in the process.
The victim told The News she was left with a ‘painful’ arm injury after it got trapped in the door while trying to keep the men out of her home.

Hide AdHer injuries meant that she needed to be taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham, where she was given an X-ray.
She said: ‘I got back at about 7.10pm from the hospital, but then it all started again at about 10pm.
‘They smashed the window round the back, tried to kick in the door, went around outside with a lighter.’
Hampshire Constabulary said that police received a further call at around 10pm after a man attempted to force entry to the address, causing damage.

Hide AdThe woman added: ‘The police did well after the second time. They’re all in custody now.’
Police confirmed that an 18-year-old man and a 52-year-old man, both from Havant, have been arrested on suspicion of burglary and possession with intent to supply.
A 21-year-old man from Havant was also arrested on suspicion of burglary.
They all remain in custody at this time.
