Firefighters tackle blaze at derelict building in Portsmouth
FIRE crews from Southsea and Cosham tackled a small blaze at a derelict building in Portsmouth this evening.
Five crews were called to Brunel House, in The Hard, shortly 6pm this evening.
The blaze had ignited on the first floor of the vacant 12-storey building.

Hide AdFirefighters, armed with breathing apparatuses, used two high-pressure hose reels to quell the flames, as well as a fan to ventilate the building.
They also conducted a search of the abandoned property but found no-one else inside.
Police were on scene but took no action, crew manager Paul Grant said.
The cause of the fire has not been determined.
Firefighters left the scene at 7.30pm.
