New CT scanner is unveiled at Queen Alexandra Hospital
The new Toshiba Aquilion One Vision CT scanner can capture an image of the entire heart in a quarter of a second and a chest scan in just two seconds.
Last year Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust carried out CT scans for nearly 60,000 patients.

Hide AdNicky Wragg, CT and MRI superintendent radiographer, said: ‘It is at the forefront of technology and the images it produces are of an outstanding diagnostic quality.
‘The clinical applications that it can be used for will allow us to expand scanning expertise in many fields including cardiology, respiratory, oncology and paediatrics.’
