Allowances go up for councillors at Havant council
The basic allowance for councillors serving at Havant Borough Council has been increased from £5,350 to £5,891.
The decision was voted through by councillors at a full council meeting at The Plaza.

Hide AdThe five councillors who lead scrutiny panels will take an additional allowance of £2,500 – increasing from £1,973.
Meanwhile, the allowance for the chairman of the council’s planning committee has been decreased from £5,920 to £3,577.
Several additional allowances are staying the same, including the leader (£14,800), deputy leader (£8,800), cabinet member (£8,140), licensing committee chairman (£2,960), governance and audit committee chairman (£1,480), scrutiny board chairman (£5,920), and joint HR committee chairman (£1,973).
Mileage rates are to be maintained at 45p per mile.
This does not include ward business or political activities.
