Extra cash needed to build Gosport flood defences, admits Environment Agency

ADDITIONAL funding will have to be sourced to build flood defences in Gosport, according to the Environment Agency.

It was previously reported that Gosport Borough Council is struggling to fund the two projects in Alverstoke and Forton.

The proposed schemes would reduce flood risk to 341 properties over the next 50 years from a one-in-100-year weather event.
