Purple Party raises cancer awareness in Portsmouth
Kaylie Madukaiwe, 28, from North End, Portsmouth, was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin Lymphoma in May and organised the fundraising event at Carousel Nursery, Hilsea, to raise awareness of the condition.
She called it the Purple Party – the association’s signature colour – and Kaylie had help from her two daughters, Eric, eight, and four-year-old Marlea.

Hide AdKaylie said: ‘There was a steady group of people throughout the four hours of the event. I’d say we had at least had a few hundred people over the day.’
The day included various activities for children with face-painting and a craft table with halloween-themed activities and Kaylie said it raised about £650 for the association.
She thanked Fiona Parker, who allowed the nurseryto be used for the day and supported the event.
