Sunday drivers, the old A3 and much-missed Horndean brewery
It is of course the old A3 passing the much-missed Gales Brewery at Horndean.
This is a much-altered scene with the brewery closed and partially demolished and new building taking place along this stretch of road.

Hide Ad- I wonder if the residents of Tarrant Gardens, Bedhampton, know their houses are built on the site of the former Stockheath School.
Before that period and during the war it was HMS Daedalus III, a satellite camp to the main site at Lee-on-the-Solent.
Here we see wrens at the camp on the parade ground which would later become the school playground. Some camp buildings, which later became part of the school, can be seen in the background.
- This former railway bridge, below, was dumped at Hilsea along the fortifications of Hilsea Lines.
I think it could be the footbridge that crossed the lines at Portcreek, but stand to be corrected. Is it still there?
