Queues built on the A3(M) and the A3023 Langtone Road yesterday as a result of the partial closure of the A27.
The closure will be followed by narrow lanes running over the bridge with a 50mph speed restriction in both directions for up to 10 weeks and is planned to be complete in December.
Work on the bypass – built in 1968 – will include replacing the bridge joints and waterproofing material, resurfacing the eastbound and westbound carriageways and replacing the central reservation over the bridge.
