The Met Office says that Tuesday and Wednesday are likely to see strong winds and gales, which will be fierce enough to disrupt transport.
A statement says: ‘A spell of strong winds is likely to develop across the southwest of England and Wales on Tuesday morning, before spreading east across other parts of England and Wales overnight, clearing into the North Sea on Wednesday afternoon.

The prediction is for large waves and spray on the coast, with delays on the roads, railways and on ferries. Power cuts are a possibility, says the Met Office.
