Shinkwin: McIntyre will be target practice

The British title challenger took a 97-95 points win over McIntyre when they met for the Southern Area crown in 2014.

The 28-year-old is known for his flashy skills and has a strong amateur pedigree – captaining England and boxing around the world.
Shinkwin acknowledged McIntyre’s strength – but he feels that will have no bearing on who comes out on top.
Shinkwin said: ‘He will bring what he has, and I’ll bring what I have.

‘How long does the fight go? That depends on how brave his corner is.

‘I’m just going to keep hitting him.’
There has again been needle between the pair in the build-up to the contest with McIntyre branding Shinkwin ‘arrogant’ at Wednesday’s press conference at Fratton Park.
Shinkwin dismissed that suggestion after a tense head to head between the pair.
The Hertfordshire boxer insisted, however, a McIntyre return is something he’s been chasing for some time.

Hide AdShinkwin stated the 14-1 man’s team have twice turned down the rematch previously.
Now he’s looking to avoid the mistakes which cost him against British champ Hosea Burton in February.
He said: ‘I don’t think I’m arrogant. Anyone who knows me knows I’m not.
‘If he wants to say that and that’s what helps him win the fight good luck to him.
‘I think ability wins fight not arrogance.
