Gaffer: Pompey deserved Rovers draw
Another sickener at the death for Pompey. Was it a fair result?
We concede too many late goals, so it was disappointing to concede another one.

Hide AdIn the first 15 minutes, I thought Blackburn were going to run away with it – they looked a class above.
But we got hold of the game and were unlucky not to come away with a point. A draw would have been a fair result.
Pompey really responded well after conceding, didn’t they?
They missed three or four chances and Brett Pitman had pretty much an open goal after Conor Chaplin’s equaliser.
It wasn’t an easy finish but when you have someone like him in the team, he needs to be putting them away.

Hide AdThat’s when I felt the game really turned and Blackburn started coming back into it.
We have a bad habit of sitting deep and launching the ball up to Pitman when we’re drawing a game like that.
The ball just comes straight back to us and we’ve done it so often this season. It almost always results in us conceding a goal.
But overall I feel pretty positive about the performance. Blackburn are a good side and it would have been a bonus if we’d have got anything from it.
Were you glad to see Conor Chaplin starting?

Hide AdIt was good to see and he deserved it after his cameo against MK Dons.
He’s got a lot to prove and seems to be getting there now.
Chaplin had a great game and proved his doubters wrong.
He was all over the pitch, scored a great goal and was really industrious.
Who was your man of the match?
It goes to Luke McGee for me,
He just keeps you in games and there can’t be many better goalkeepers in the league who are better in one-on-one situations.
McGee made two one-on-one saves, plus a couple more when their players were ruled offside.
Add that to his performance against MK Dons and he’s responded really well after being dropped for that Doncaster game.
