However, the Blues were well below their best against John Askey's side and their performance was the opposite to the previous weekend's win over Plymouth.
Brett Pitman rescued Pompey a point with an 87th-minute penalty, cancelling out Greg Docherty's opening goal.

Brett Pitman has now scored 18 goals in 25 home appearances for #Portsmouth in all competitions (20 starts). #BrettTheHitmanPitman

If you think Pompey were '˜shocking' or anything like that today, then you clearly haven't been going very long cause there have been a billion times worse than that over the years. Some people need their heads checking #Pompey
@PompeyPedro
Not making excuses for Burgess but worth noting that most of our players made some bad mistakes today, it just so happened his led to a goal. Just my opinion but Pompey fans, especially online, need to get out the habit of vilifying players for individual mistakes. Helps no one

Hide AdNot the best performance from #Pompey this afternoon, but I think it's harsh to be picking out individuals. Players make mistakes. We're still unbeaten so far and for me that's all that matters!

Pompey MOTM: North Stand Lino for not letting the ref bottle the absolute stonewaller at the end there, because we all know he wasn't gonna give it otherwise
@PompeyChiv
Pompey poor today. Thought Evans in particular couldn't get his range with passing or shooting. Still got a draw though and we move on. Ref was rubbish as usual
@PompeyJay
We just weren't ourselves today but roll on next game and hopefully have had ironed out the creases that caused it. We are bound to have a few spin outs in the season

Happy for the tie, will take the point, a good fight until the last whistle. Next weekend, the big match for top of table.@officialpompey
