McGeehan had just two sub outings to his name since his last Barnsley start at the start of November, when he scored in a 4-2 loss to Stoke.
Kenny Jackett feels the former Luton man deserves praise for his showings so far given his lack of action of late.
He said: ‘Cameron will play (against Scunthorpe).
‘He’s done well and made a good impression, especially considering he hasn’t played that much football in the first half of the season before he came to us.
‘For Cameron anyway, I’ve been pleased with what he’s done.

Seddon has been a standout performer in his three starts and single substitute appearance to date.

He added: ‘Both Cameron and Steve Seddon have made good impressions.
‘Neither have had many games at all.
‘Sometimes it’s difficult to come in and do that.
‘Both of those have hit the ground running, though, and that’s pleasing.’
