Ex-Portsmouth man bags quick-fire League One hat-trick - after scoring once in previous 13 months

The MK Dons forward last night bagged a 28-minute hat-trick as they inflicted successive defeats on Fleetwood.
Mason endured an unimpressive Fratton Park spell in the first half of the 2018-19 season, failing to score in four outings.

That proved to be Mason’s first and only start during a loan spell from Wolves, returning to his parent club in the January transfer window.
Now aged 29, he’s in a second season at MK Dons, yet since Boxing Day 2019 has struggled for goals and fitness.
Having netted in a 2-2 draw at Southend, he would score once in his next 23 appearances.

Hide AdYet the ex-Cardiff man would roar back to form with a first-half hat-trick to defeat Fleetwood 3-1 on Tuesday night.
The Cod Army, under caretaker boss Simon Wiles, were beaten 1-0 by Pompey on Saturday, through John Marquis’ header.
They have now failed to win their last six matches in all competitions, sinking to 12th.
The victory lifted MK Dons into 15th.
Mason last term netted four times in 16 appearances following MK Dons’ return to League One.
