Dave Kitson’s bid to become the head of the Professional Footballers’ Association has been labelled ‘pretty embarrassing’.

The former Pompey striker has launched a campaign to oust current chief executive Gordon Taylor.

Kitson featured on 72 occasions for Pompey, scoring 12 times, in a career which also saw him represent Reading, Stoke, Cambridge United and Sheffield United.
