An EFL statement last Friday said an unweighted points-per-game method would decide league positions in the wake of a curtailment to the 2019-20 campaign – a route clubs in League Two have gone down.
That would see Coventry and Rotherham head to the Championship automatically, leaving the Blues, Oxford United, Fleetwood and Wycombe to fight it out in the traditional play-off places.

Hide AdPeterborough and Sunderland, who both support a mini-tournament to determine the last remaining promotion spot which is unlikely to get off the ground, would finish outside the top six.
Jackett would have no complaints about either proposal, though. He pinpointed that's what his fourth-placed side Pompey were heading for prior to the suspension of the season.
And the Blues boss reckons his troops would relish a play-off battle.
Jackett said: ‘If we do get back to football, it does seem like there will be some type of play-off system.

Hide Ad'That looks the favourite at the moment, although I don’t know that for definite.
‘Obviously, if we do get into that situation then we do have a lot to play for and win a Championship place if we can.
‘It does seem like there’ll be a return with what’s happened.
‘I don't really mind if there is a play-off system. When the season was suspended that's where we were and you have to accept that.

Hide Ad‘The game was stopped for a good reason, a very good reason and we actually were in fourth place.
‘If that's where we pick up and we get that similar chance then fine. I'd be saying that wherever we were in the table.
‘It would be exciting in a way for us. I think our players would be very focused and looking forward to the games.’
