High-flying club owners have also indicated they would pursue legal cases if the season was to rendered null and void.
Jackett’s view is in line with the game’s decision makers, although he knows the spread of Covid-19 could yet force a decision at elite level in line with much of the non-league game – which has now seen this season wiped from the record books.
He said: ‘We would all want the season to be concluded.
‘But it would very much depend on how long things go on for - and how it impacts next season. That’s the big thing.

‘It’s really difficult to gauge - and that’s why people haven’t made a decision right now.
‘We have to wait and see what the overall situation is.
‘If we can finish the season that would be great, but we may have to just review that as we go along.
‘There’s lots of discussions going on, but the last few weeks have been ever-changeable.
‘It’s not just week to week but day to day with the overall situation.
‘I think that will continue, because it doesn’t look like things are going to get better for the next couple of months anyway.’
