According to both the Yorkshire Evening Post and the Northampton Chronicle, the Blues were one of several clubs – along with Shrewsbury, Bradford, St Johnstone and Hamilton – who were keen on the striker.
Edmondson spent the first half of the season on loan at Aberdeen from the Premier League outfit.

Leeds were again keen for Edmondson to depart on a temporary basis and gain first-team experience.
Pompey were supposedly one club keeping tabs on the England youth international before he opted for the Cobblers.
After signing for Northampton, he said: ‘I think I'm at a crucial part of my career now where I need to be playing and I felt it was the right decision to go back to Leeds and consider my options.

‘I want to come here, play regularly, play well, score goals and do the best I can do. If that helps me get towards Leeds' first-team in the future, that would be amazing.’
Pompey aren’t short when it comes to strikers, however.
John Marquis is the club’s top goalscorer with 12 goals, while Ellis Harrison has provided back-up for the majority of the season.
