It was far from a convincing performance from Pompey.
However, it’s a result we all would have taken at the start of the day – and the Fratton faithful were delighted to come through the test with three points in the bag.
Here’s what fans on social media had to say about the result and display…
@dazza_nics: Grinned that one out.. but a great result. Tbh the way they set up against us at Fratton I’m glad we won that way! Another important 3 points!

Hide Ad@Samalaaarr: Result more important than performance in that one.
A big positive is that for all the ball Fleetwood had, they barely created a thing.
Very organised and hard to break down against a good side.
@peadubya66: Great result #Pompey
Five clean sheets in a roll in the league.
Jackett knows would like to play better but wins like today are important come the end of the season. Big home games coming up.
@themartinfish: Win ugly. I’ll take it. Great battling lads. Defence were immense.

Hide Ad@FredsDotW: Pompey going very defensive and Jackett not making subs is always a worry, but considering the importance of the game and the rustiness in the squad, i don't mind it. Williams was outstanding today from a creative standpoint. It's clicking for him.
@FrattonFaithful: Edged a win out there without playing anywhere near our best.
Battened down the hatches, poor game overall but I happily take the three points away from in mid-winter no matter how.
Big win with most other results going against us today.
@MikeTattooed: Wow, #Pompey made hard work of that! I hate it when we sit back on a lead, especially a 1-0!
