Ryan Williams: Portsmouth must keep Barnsley's Cameron McGeehan for next season

The Barnsley loanee missed a spot kick as the Blues were last night eliminated from the League One play-offs by Oxford United following a 5-4 penalty shoot-out defeat.
It could prove to be McGeehan’s final contribution to Pompey, as he now returns to his parent club.

And Williams would like to see the midfielder remain at Fratton Park beyond his temporary stay.
He told The News: ‘You could hear a pin drop in the dressing room, nobody said a word, just the gaffer.
‘Everyone was trying to console Cam because he is such a good guy and you feel for him.

‘Hopefully we can keep him on board. I like playing with him and I’m sure it will give him the extra fire in his belly to kick on next season.
‘You can’t really talk to him after what happened, I gave him a hug. We are all there for him, there’s not a lot you can say to him.
‘He’s happy here, he likes the boys, he likes the manager. He has settled in well, he’s settled in quickly.
‘He was part of a really good winning streak. Everyone wants him here – we’ll have to see what he wants and the club.
‘For me, I want him here next year.’
