Hide AdOn a season-long loan from Millwall, Thompson admits he still has to show he can cut it in the Championship.
But having trained around players who have proved themselves in the second tier, the 23-year-old feels there are members of Pompey's side who are capable of making the grade in the higher division.Â
'˜I think there are players who can play in the Championship,' said Thompson.
'˜I've only played in the Championship three times so I need to prove myself at that level.Â

Hide Ad'˜It is a tougher league. When you're watching games you can see the standard is so much better and you get punished for every mistake.
'˜It's a lot different but I do think there are players here who can do it in the Championship, although I'm not putting anyone under that pressure!
'˜There is some serious talent in this dressing room and we've got some great players.
'˜When I got into the Championship via the play-offs with Millwall I was going into games thinking 'we're so confident, there's no way we can lose, we're going to turn these over
'˜I've got the same feeling here.'
